Ms. Marian MacNair joined TerraHumana Solutions as a consultant and strategic partner, bringing a strong background in botany and environmental conservation. Since 2021, she has successfully completed three mandates with TerraHumana Solutions, conducting floristic inventories for natural areas targeted for development. Transitioning from a career in journalism to one in conservation and environmental awareness, Ms. MacNair earned a Master’s degree in Plant Science from McGill University. Her graduate research utilized community science data to analyze monarch butterfly reproductive preferences in Eastern Ontario, conducted in partnership with the Montreal Insectarium. As part of this work, she surveyed 85 sites in 2019 using the international monarch monitoring protocol. Ms. MacNair further honed her expertise through a summer field course in native flora at McGill’s Mount Saint-Hilaire and specialized in native botany during her undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology. She also volunteered at McGill’s herbarium and created the Morgan Arboretum Phenological Calendar, documenting seasonal natural events in the Montreal area.
