TerraHumana Solutions

Our Environmental and Social Policy

At TerraHumana Solutions, we make a difference through our actions

We work daily to reduce our environmental footprint, creating a positive impact on the environment while increasing our social commitment.

Social Commitment

TerraHumana Solutions’ President and Co-Founder, Isabelle-Anne Bisson, led two non-profit organizations for 10 years, including the Table de Quartier du Sud de l’Ouest-de-l’Île (TQSOI), a community council dedicated to improving the quality of life for its citizens.

This type of commitment to our society is close to our hearts, which is why our team is encouraged to dedicate 2 to 4 hours per week of volunteer work to local organizations.

Socially Responsible Investment (SRI)

As a company, we invest in funds that prioritize businesses recognized for their management of environmental, social and governance issues.

Water Management

We ensure that our office uses the minimum amount of water, with consumption limited to that of our employees.

Additionally, we have installed rain barrels to collect rainwater for watering our vegetable gardens and plants.

Towards Local and Responsible Food

We provide our employees with food grown locally or harvested from our own garden whenever possible.

We also make it a priority to maintain a palm oil-free office environment due to the negative environmental impact of the palm oil industry, choosing instead from the many more responsible options available.

Waste Management

We actively recycle and compost, with the goal of minimizing waste sent to landfills.

Employees are trained on plastics and materials that can and cannot be recycled or composted, and are encouraged to adopt these practices both at work and in their personal lives.

Single-use items like polystyrene cups and plastic utensils are strictly prohibited in our offices.

Responsible Energy Management

Our head office has low electricity needs. We are an eco-energy building certified by Hydro-Québec’s Comparez-vous program. In addition, our employees work from remote offices three days a week, further reducing energy consumption at our headquarters.

We also strongly encourage natural light exposure to reduce the need for artificial lighting.

Remote Work and Sustainable Mobility

Employees are encouraged to work from remote offices or their homes using technological tools.

Client meetings are conducted via video conference when possible, or in person during times of low traffic congestion.

During the summer months, employees are invited to bike or walk to work.

Low Impact Office Supplies

Our office supplies are purchased in bulk or ordered online to reduce carbon emissions. Studies show that online orders help reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly, as parcel delivery companies have optimized logistics networks that lower fuel consumption.

Our office items are made from recycled materials and sourced from local vendors when possible.

Paper Reduction and Sustainable Management

TerraHumana Solutions’ internal policy is to print only when absolutely necessary or at the client’s request. Our headquarters has recently acquired a duplex printer, reducing paper consumption by 50%.

Paper used when printing is certified as sustainably sourced and all ink cartridges are responsibly recycled at designated cartridge recovery centres.
